Last night on June 26, 2024, a system update was performed on the State Seed to Sale Tracking System (METRC). As part of this update, changes to the MS Medical Cannabis Program Patient Allotment were made which eliminated the column for a patient’s rolling 7-Day allotment in the METRC system. This was done in preparation for the July 1, 2024, change pursuant to SB2857 which eliminates the rolling 7-Day allotment limit on patient purchases.

Miss. Code Ann. Section 27-65-111(ab) provides a sales tax holiday in the State of Mississippi. A sales tax holiday is a temporary period when sales taxes are not collected or paid on purchases of specific products and/or services.

Senate Bill 2470 (2024 Regular Session) extended the holiday a day and moved it to the second Friday in July.

The Department of Revenue is accepting applications for the 2024 Summer Internship Program. Applications and supporting documents should be submitted by Monday, April 1, 2024.

The Mississippi Department of Revenue will begin accepting Applications for Charitable Credit Allocations for calendar year 2024 on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, 8:00 a.m. CST.

Applications must be submitted online. You can access the application by clicking here and selecting the “Apply for a Charitable Contribution Credit” link under the Apply Online section.

Charitable Contributions Credit Notice 

House Bill 1733 of the 2023 Legislative Session was signed into law on March 27, 2023. This bill amended Miss. Code Ann. Section 27-7-17 to revise the methods of depreciation that may be used for certain expenditures and property for state income tax purposes. This bill is effective from and after January 1, 2023.
